Wedding Day Hair

Your wedding day should be the happiest, most joyful day of your life and we're going to tell you how you can make that day shine even more!

Six Months To a Year Before the Wedding
Start researching and experimenting with different hair and makeup styles to create your individual wedding day look. If you plan to use a stylist, make a consultation appointment and bring lots of pictures of looks you love. Agree on a style that you're sure matches your gown and your personality.
If your hair is relaxed, you can go for styles that capitalize on the smoothness of your hair. Flowers, ribbon and other accessories can really come to the rescue to hide a missed relaxer appointment or any reversion issues due to bad weather.
If you wear your hair naturally in all its kinky, coily glory, then go for styles that accentuate the full, fluffy nature of your hair. Rain is your friend, so if the weatherman is forecasting some of the wet stuff, wear styles that accentuate your coils and looks even better when the weather is damp. Because of the full nature of natural hair, don't overdo the flowers as you ma have to use larger ones which will detract from the overall effect. Using ribbons and decorative clips is ideal because they not only help to hold the hair in place, but assist with the veil as well.

Eight Weeks Before the Big Day
Use microdermabrasion or glycolic peels once a month for two months prior, to give your skin a flawless, smooth surface for makeup and a rich glow. Set up a skin care routine to ensure that your skin will be looking its best for your wedding day. Start doing those hair deep conditioning treatments now. Manipulate your hair as little as possible so that you don't experience breakage and other loss. You will be very busy planning the wedding, so if your hair is up and out of your way for the time being, you can concentrate on other things.
