A Month Before the Big Day
Exfoliate your body daily with a loofah and/or body scrub to maintain shiny,
healthy skin all over (if you are going strapless, concentrate on your arms,
shoulders, and back). For flaky lips, exfoliate by brushing them gently with a
soft toothbrush. See your stylist to get a final trim (remember, nothing
drastic!) and if you have considered adding some highlights, do it now.
Perfectly placed highlights add an instant glow to your face. That will give you
an idea of the final look for your tresses and if there are any mistakes, it
give your hair time to recover at least 1/2" of new growth to soften the look of
the cut so that it is not too harsh.
Two Weeks Before the Big Day
Gather your products to make sure you have everything you could possibly need.
The key to picture-ready makeup is a set of professional makeup brushes. Then,
when applying your makeup, blend, blend, blend! Have all of your hair products
ready to go. If you have less than a half bottle of your favorite, hard to find
conditioner, replace that now.
On the Big Day
For the longest lasting lip color that won't move through all that kissing and
smiling, apply foundation over lips. Then line with a lip liner, then apply lip
color with a lip brush. While there is some confusion as to which should be done
first, always do your hair first, then your makeup. Why? Because your makeup
should enhance the hairstyle. The colors in your hair will work badly if the
colors in your makeup do not compliment it.
